Well baby care is very important for your baby's health and development.Vaccines are given on the majority of the visits, so please bring your immunization card each time. Well visits are recommended annually after 2 years of age. Gardasil - prevents infections from HPV (human papilloma virus). HPV is the leading cause of cervical cancer. It's given in a series of 3 doses to girls over 9, before sexual activity. Rotateq - prevents rotavirus infection, a common cause of profuse watery diarrhea. Its given in a series of 3 doses at 2,4 & 6 months. Varivax - vaccine has been given to 1 year olds for 10 years, and a recent recommendation is for a booster at the kindergarten immunizations. We will be catching-up older kids at their well visits.
